Check-In #2May 11, 2017 DiscussionThe project so far that I have enjoyed studying, was last week when we had to "Summarize Plans from the Constitutional Convention". I wouldn't necessarily say that my academic skills have improved - I have a hard time organizing essays - but I certainly do feel more knowledgeable. I had a hard time finding articles, so I'm going to take the time this weekend to look around some more so I have an easier time finding sources of information. I tend to be good at organizing mys schedule, but I got mixed up on the days and relied too much on the calendar rather than the modules to block off my time.
One benefit I have, is that I am interested in politics. Watching the news - especially in this presidency - is like watching a soap-opera, but with real life consequences. Going through the chosen material has given me many "ah ha" moments, but then I have twenty more questions that make me want to keep learning more, one in particular is why we have the electoral college and who we can "blame" for it. Whenever I see my boyfriend, he always asks me what I've learned so far, and this too helps me further understand the material because I get to see what I actually know, and what I need to read again. If I can't tell you about it, then I don't really know it, do I? Check-In #1May 5, 2017 Discussion - WeeblyThis would be the first time I make an ePortfolio, I think I'm going to want to make it public so that I can hopefully get constructive criticism. I looked at the different options, and I like the simplicity of the Canvas method, instead of focusing on the way things look, I can focus on my thoughts, however, everyone likes something pretty to look at, so I also am considering Weebly, depending on it's ease of use. The Canvas example was boring to look at, but it got to the point, so the example was lukewarm. The Weebly example (I got a 404 error on the first link) is a happy medium, the WIX example had too many pictures that I felt took away from the content. Depending on the ease of use, I am leaning towards Weebly.
